Methi Malai Paneer |Spice Rituals
Methi Malai Paneer : Enjoy this  rich creamy Paneer recipe prepared with fresh fenugreek leaves.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

  • 1/2 tbsp garlic grated
  • 1/2 tbsp ginger grated
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp  coriander powder
  • 3/4 cup tomato puree
  • 1 green chilli
  • 2 tbsp yogurt/curd
  • 2 tsp fenugreek leaves dry.
  • 1 cup fresh fenugreek leaves
  • 2 tsp garam masala(All spice mix)
  • 1/2 cup paneer/Indian cottage cheese 
  • 2 tbsp fresh cream / Heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tbsp cilantro/coriander leaves. 


INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a pan heat cooking oil and add cumin seeds.
  2. Add garlic, ginger and cook till the raw smell of garlic is gone. 
  3. Add onion and sauté for 2-3 min. 
  4. Cover and cook for 3-4 min , once onions are soft add dry spices - Salt , Red chilli powder , turmeric and coriander powder. 
  5. Add some water to avoid masala from burning. 
  6. Add tomato puree and sauté for 1-2 min.
  7. Cover and cook for 2-3 min.
  8. Reduce the flame to low and add green chilli and yogurt/curd.
  9. Stir continuously to prevent yogurt/curd from separating.
  10. Bring flame to normal/medium and dried fenugreek leaves and garam masala.
  11. Add  fresh fenugreek leaves. 
  12. Add some water , cover and cook for 2-3 minutes. 
  13. Add paneer cubes and sauté for 1-2 min.
  14. cover and cook for 1-2 min.
  15. Add fresh cream and mix. 
  16. Garnish with cilantro/coriander leaves and enjoy your Methi Malai Paneer. 


NOTES

  1. To reduce the bitterness of methi leaves, keep methi in salt water and set aside for a few minutes. Then rinse under running water.
