INGREDIENTS
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tbsp garlic grated
- 1/2 tbsp ginger grated
- 1 cup onion chopped
- 1/2 tbsp salt
- 2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 3/4 cup tomato puree
- 1 green chilli
- 2 tbsp yogurt/curd
- 2 tsp fenugreek leaves dry.
- 1 cup fresh fenugreek leaves
- 2 tsp garam masala(All spice mix)
- 1/2 cup paneer/Indian cottage cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh cream / Heavy whipping cream
- 1 tbsp cilantro/coriander leaves.
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a pan heat cooking oil and add cumin seeds.
- Add garlic, ginger and cook till the raw smell of garlic is gone.
- Add onion and sauté for 2-3 min.
- Cover and cook for 3-4 min , once onions are soft add dry spices - Salt , Red chilli powder , turmeric and coriander powder.
- Add some water to avoid masala from burning.
- Add tomato puree and sauté for 1-2 min.
- Cover and cook for 2-3 min.
- Reduce the flame to low and add green chilli and yogurt/curd.
- Stir continuously to prevent yogurt/curd from separating.
- Bring flame to normal/medium and dried fenugreek leaves and garam masala.
- Add fresh fenugreek leaves.
- Add some water , cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add paneer cubes and sauté for 1-2 min.
- cover and cook for 1-2 min.
- Add fresh cream and mix.
- Garnish with cilantro/coriander leaves and enjoy your Methi Malai Paneer.
NOTES
To reduce the bitterness of methi leaves, keep methi in salt water and set aside for a few minutes. Then rinse under running water.
